Inspiration

I would like to invite you to join an open conversation about life hosted by "Life School: Better Today". We will freely discuss hopes and dreams for today, tomorrow, and life in general. The goal is for each person to go away with a flame that moves him/her to be better today than he/she was yesterday and a plan to be better tomorrow than today.

Life Skills

"We max’d out the video call and had people from across the US: North, South, East, West. We had first responders, scientists, ministers, musicians, personal trainers, authors, and a host of inspiring high schoolers." "It's great. Probably the highlight of my week."

Week 1: Start Explosively (4/10)

Our Fire Starter was Dr. Hong Huang. She has over 28 years experience as a scientist and currently works in infectious disease testing. She shared practical guidance and a presentation directly from her San Francisco lab's release of a rapid test for COVID19. We continued with a conversation of how important it is to "Figure it out" in life and touched on John Maxwell's quote that "You have three days" to respond and do something. Make Cupcakes!

Week 2: Building Foundations (4/17)

Our Fire Starter was Air Force Master Sergeant and Assistant Chief firefighter Roger Kemp who joined from Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina. He shared lessons of resilience gained throughout his life including 11 deployments, nearly 20 years of military service, and the daily challenge of leading a team of 155 firefighters.

Week 3: New Beginnings (4/24)

Our Fire Starter was Vera Rowe, former high school teacher who chose to leave her math classroom in Boston to pursue her passion for dance. She now carries the amazing distinction of nine time World Salsa, Bachata and Hustle Champion. She started us off with the inspiring and real journey that took her to where she is and led her to where she's on to next.

Week 9: Race & Unity (6/5)

A special extended nationwide raw conversation focused on Race & Unity. MIT alum Jonathan White built a vivid and clear foundation of facts and history which primed an open discussion addressing real life, broken perspectives, biases, and misconceptions. The conversation built on an informed understanding to inspire hope, dreams, action, and solutions for today and tomorrow.
